Building a Business With Reliable Machines
Paul Azzopardi grew up in a family of earthworks contractors. With years of experience in the industry, he launched his own company, Impact Earthworx, four years ago. His business provides site preparation for residential subdivisions across Sydneyโs fast-growing north-western suburbs.
โWhen I started, I knew rugged and reliable equipment was the best way to deliver the service customers expect. You need machines that work fast, finish on time, and avoid costly downtime,โ Paul explained.
His first machine was a Takeuchi TL250, which he used for cutting and leveling sites. โIt was perfect for our type of work because of its strength, power, and versatility,โ he said.
Upgrading to the Takeuchi TL12R2 Track Loader
When it came time to upgrade, Paul compared different machines on the market. The Takeuchi TL12R2 quickly stood out.
โThe radial lift boom fits the way I work and provides stronger breakout force compared with the older model. I canโt fault this machine. It offers more comfort while keeping the durability of the TL250, which is always my top requirement,โ Paul shared.

Heavy Bucket for More Productivity
The TL12R2 track loader uses a Norm 4-in-1 pro bucket. This larger, heavier bucket allows Paul to push more weight onto the ground and use the full power of the 81.8 kW engine.
โAt first it took time to adjust, but now I can get much more power into the ground. The bigger bucket makes the work faster and more efficient,โ Paul explained.
He also added an optional ripper bar. This feature softens hard clay and soil quickly, making it easier to remove top spoil with greater precision.
Comfort and Control in Every Job
โThe cabin is bigger than the TL250 and the air conditioning works brilliantly. The controls are easy to use and very responsive. Other machines Iโve tested canโt match the feel of Takeuchi controls,โ Paul said.
The protective screen also improves visibility, while the new track design enhances ride comfort. Track rollers now sit on 40 mm of rubber, reducing vibration and ground impact.
โWhen you work long hours, this makes a big difference. At the end of the day, I feel less worn out,โ Paul added.
