When the worldโs largest thoroughbred race horse stud shops around for new equipment, itโs a safe bet that performance, durability and efficiency are the prime requirements.
The Hunter Valleyโs Coolmore Stud is the Australian operation of this global thoroughbred horse stud that has produced some of the worldโs great racehorses. Based in Fethard, County Tipperary, Coolmore is a multinational, multi-billion Euro operation that also has a stud in Kentucky, USA.
โIn this high pressure business where quality and performance is paramount, we need equipment that can perform with effortless reliability over a long timeโ said Coolmoreโs Farm Manager, John Borg.
โWe needed something to replace our wheeled Case 95XT. We looked at a lot of equipment and settled on the Takeuchi TL250 because of its ability to deliver 30 percent more versatility than our previous machine, reputation for reliability under tough conditions, low ground pressure, higher productivity, quieter operation and full compatibility with attachments from the old unitโ. John said.
Coolmore uses the Takeuchi for a wide range of applications, from landscaping the park-like grounds to preparing specialised areas such as lunging rings for horses, parade areas, road works, fencing and general maintenance.
Semcoโs Sales Area Manager Graeme Patterson said the Takeuchi TL range had become popular due to features such as the hydraulic quick hitch as standard on its TL range and high flow hydraulics as standard on its air conditioned cab models L230/240/250. These models also have an excavator style stowable door and pilot/servo controls.
