Kanga Excavation Services Chooses the Takeuchi TB225
Kanga Excavation Services Pty Ltd has discovered that the new Takeuchi TB225 adjustable track excavator performs far beyond expectations.
The first TB225 imported into Australia was purchased by Stefan Millar of Kanga Excavation Services. His company specializes in tight-access excavation for basement extensions and complex residential and commercial renovations. These projects are often in crowded areas with steep slopes, narrow streets, and very limited access.
โWhen working to a clientโs budget, we canโt waste time. We need to move quickly to reduce truck and skip costs, while also avoiding traffic delays on busy roads,โ Stefan explained.
Productivity and Reliability Back the Decision
This wasnโt Kangaโs first Takeuchi purchase. The company already owned several models, including a TB210R, a 1,180 kg compact excavator added to the fleet last year. Their positive experience with Takeuchiโs productivity and durability made the decision easy.
โWe needed another excavator, and when reviewing the TB225 specifications, we quickly realized it was the right fit. Instead of adding another 1.7-tonne machine, the TB225 offered higher productivity and a strong return on investment,โ Stefan said.
Adjustable Track Excavator With Powerful Performance
The Takeuchi TB225 adjustable track excavator is the worldโs first 2.5-tonne machine with retractable tracks. The tracks narrow to 1100 mm, allowing access to areas only smaller 1.7-tonne machines could previously reach. With the tracks extended to 1500 mm, the TB225 delivers an impressive 327 kg lift capacity. Even at 1100 mm, it still lifts 219 kg with ease.
Advanced Features That Add Value
โThis is not just a basic excavator. It comes with full features like adjustable hydraulic flow, auto deceleration, auto idle, and pilot proportional controls,โ Stefan noted.
Takeuchi also focused on practical details. The TB225 includes built-in tie-down lugs and a lockable toolbox conveniently placed behind the operatorโs seat.
โWhen operating the TB225, it feels more like handling a full-size excavator. Itโs an upscale experience compared to most mini excavators. Takeuchi has clearly designed this model to take compact excavation to the next level. It has already improved our productivity more than we expected,โ Stefan added.
